On Sat. November 22nd, 2008 Life Scout Matthew Healey of Boy Scouts Troop 36 will conduct his Eagle Project.
His project is a Collection Drive of luggages and duffle bags, gently used or new (NO backpacks please), to be donated to children in Foster Care, Youth Consultation Services at Hackensack.
The majority of childern in Forster Care move from family to family, never knowing where they will end up. Carrying their few personal belongings in trash bags or grocery sacks can be embarrassing and another reminder of how little they have. Most move between forser care families an average of seven times during their stay in the system. These children deserve to carry their belongings with dignity and self-confidence. We can help give them a glimmer of hope during a difficult time in their lives by donating a suitcase or duffle bag.
If you are unable to leave the donation that day outside of your door, please call Matt Healey at 201-225-0629 to arrange a pick up.
Thank you for all your support.
